NSC (New Safe Confinement) Arch, post-sliding visit and G7 (Assembly of Donors) – 30 November 2016.

A ceremony in Chernobyl on 29th November 2016 marked the successful conclusion of the sliding operation, a key milestone before the finalisation of the international programme to transform Chernobyl into an environmentally safe and secure state and completed by August 2019.

NSC Arch Sliding. The heaviest object ever moved on land. Very proud to have played a part in this amazing and unique nuclear project, to make safe the destroyed reactor 4 and its surrounding Object Shelter, which will secure the environment for future generations. Credit EBRD and Novarka.
